Hello to all
My father recently passed away and he was a phenonmenal musician.
He had several guitars and amps that were then passed down to me.
Being a guitar player myself it has been an honor to get some of my fathers rigs.
The one guitar that I have seem to fallen in love with the most is a Fender Strat that he had. I got a green PRS and '57 Les Paul Reissue from his as well but I dont like them as much as this strat!!!
I've been trying to find some info on it but have not been able to and was wondering if anyone on here can help me out.
The thing about this strat that makes me wonder about it so much is that its bridge pickup is a dbl seymour duncan and it other pickup is a dbl seymore duncan.
I've never seen a strat before with two sets of dbl seymours. I know the Tex Mex has one seymore and two single tex pickups. I've never seen a strat anywhere with two sets of dbl seymours. I
I dont even know if my dad played this guitar much because there are no scratches, pick marks or anything on the guitar and I had to take some of the plastic off of the volume knob and on the rear of the guitar. It looks brand new.
Its a redish sunburst in color with mother of pearl in the middle which also looks hot!! The kneck is dark wood in color. I've never seen a strat anywhere that looks like this.
I normally play Gibsons but this has become my favorite guitar for rock.
The PRS in my opinion doesnt hold water on this Strat. I grew up with my father always playing strats and I wanted to play something different but now I see myself going back to a Strat because I have fallen in love with guitar. The LP collects dust !!!
Has anyone ever heard of a Strat like this before with pickups like this?
Also where can I go to get some info on this.
Thanks to all that reply

Are you sure that it's "stock"? Perhaps your dad customized it himself.

Check the Products link towards the top of this page.

Look around at www.gbase.com and use Google.

It sounds a lot like a Big Apple Strat. They had two SD humbuckers and came in some great colors like Candy Apple Red and Shoreline Gold. They made them from the '90s until about 2002 or so. Fender made dual HB Strats for a few more years calling them Stratocaster HH, but I believe they have been discontinued now.

Thanks guys.
Well I was looking around on the thread with everyone's pics (and there are some amazing strats on here!!!) anyway I saw a couple of Americans with the same color that I have. They called it Sienna Sunburst.
I saw a strat also with the set of 2 dbl hums and the guy said his strat was a Double Fat.
So I already have a couple of good starting points so thank you again.
This site is awesome.
I want to get a different pick guard other then the mother of pearl and upgrade to some different knobs just to add my own personal touch.
Anyone know any good sites to check out for aftermarket knobs and guards?

Hi Fenderbendermike. First, welcome to the Forum. Second, my condolences on the loss of your father. I'm sure it would be very important to him that his instruments continue to be played and loved.

On which, care to tell us more about those rigs you mentioned?

Regarding this Strat, I'm just curious: does it have locking tuners? And what is the neck heel like - is it square or cut back in a contour on the treble side? It's that pearl pickguard that's got me wondering...

Cheers - C

Thank you all for the warm welcome here.
Thanks for the thoughts on my father as well.
I am glad to be able to share the fact that we both had a love for music and both loved to play the guitar.
I play for him everyday.
I will take some pics of the guitar and send them in.
I dont know what year the guitar is or how to find that out.
I did put some Tele polished knobs on it and I really love the look.
Truthfully I know nothing of the guitar other then I love the way I can play it.
I have a Reissue 57 Black Beaty LP Custom and PRS and I dont like either of them as much as this Strat.
The serial number starts Z102
Can the number tell me anything about the guitar.
It does not have locking tuners

I apologize for the newbie questions.
After looking in further details to this site I found in the support section that my Strat is a 01 or 02 model.
I know its from Cornona cuz its stamped on it.
Pic's will follow shortly once I figure out how to get them on here.
