Hi All - I got an '08 Strat American Deluxe HSS in June - great outta case - intonation, action, everything.....played at home a couple months to really learn it, and then started using it at gigs in place of my Vintage Jazzmaster and Godin (w/ upgraded Humb's) - and it worked great until recently...started with a buzz on D string...then noticed intonation was off, action got higher...developed into buzz/rattle, sick noise on all frets, when unamplified, all strings...all screws are tight, pegs OK, back cavity's cool...Fender says probably best to have Pro do the Pickguard removal because of S-1 switch, check inside guts..and then I noticed a really sick, hollow knocking when I tap the back of the neck...anyone else run into anything like this? I'm hoping a general setup and some type of truss adjustment, minor, but worried.....tone got a bit thin from time to time at gigs too.....
THANK YOU!

Thanks for quick responses you all! I'll be off to Authorized repair w/ receipt it is - Happy Holidays, many thanks..I'll update after.

Broken trussrod maybe. Its under the lifetime warranty if it is.

Uh-oh - this is bad; this is very bad. Straight back to the dealer with it, Jim: that's what warranties are for. If the trussrod is snapped a new neck or a whole new guitar are the only options, I'm afraid. Be very interested to hear how it turns out, if you felt like telling us.

Unfortunate circumstances, but welcome to the Forum!

Cheers - C

Sounds right, I would have the truss rod checked.

I've seen people unscrew it too far and have a rattle. You really have to crank it to break it. If somebody forced the truss rod adjusting it, they may not cover it.
