I need a replacement neck for a Mexican Reissue strat. It has one with the narrower nut and 7 1/4 inch radius. I really dont like it. I bend allot, and its more difficult for me with this neck. I'm thinking about a Warmoth, though they tend to be really pricy, and I just dont trust Mighty Mite's. They're way to inexpensive to be any good IMO. tell me if im wrong, and if anyone has any ideas about a neck, let me know please....

wouldnt it be cheaper to sell yours and buy another with the proper neck for you rather than do all this custom work to yours?

It would, but guitars just arent selling online right now. Ive seen the same American Deluxe's on craigslist for months now. At first they were overpriced, but in the last month they're actually really good deals, and still aren't selling. Im looking to do either one at this point.

Hi Windwalker: in my limited experience with them Mighty Mite necks have been absolutely fine. Nothing to complain of. I've also had a couple of nice necks from WD Music. I don't know who builds those: I believe it is not Mighty Mite - perhaps WD make them themselves?

However, everyone who has posted here about them has had good things to say about Warmoth, so I guess that's the prefered option if you are up for it. And of course you can specify your exact requirements and have them build it accordingly. As you say though, significantly more expensive.

Cheers - C

You be hard pressed to beat this price for what you get. And it a compound radius 10" to 16" you like to bend

Yeah, Im looking at them now.. I think if I go with just a maple neck w/ rosewood fretboard, and satin finish, i can get away with jsut over $220. But thats with the compond radius, which I dont know if I'd like. Anyone have any experience with them??? As with Mighty Mite, I've heard mixed reviews.. I heard they're okay when you get them, but they tend to age quickly... Though, I guess if you'r only spending $125, you cant complain too much. This is an option, as it will allow me to get more funds up to mod this Mexican. Id just play it, and save for another American, but I really like the weight of the body, its heavy, and I like a heavier body. Does anyone know if the wood on them has a laminate?? Or is it solid?

No doubt, I have 3 strats on ebay for dirt cheap and they're not moving. I need the money for my next guitar purchase. Thanks Bush, I'd throw shoes at you too if I could!

That looks like a deal. Are those fret sizes what you'd get from a stock Fender??

I have a bag of Dunlop 6150 Frets here at home and they are a classic jumbo fret I am not sure what you Vintage RI would have though.

I'm not looking for vintage, I actually dont like the vintage necks, the only reason I bought a vintage is because it was the best quality MIM I found, it's going to be a mutt when Im done with it. I'm looking for what comes on the american standard/deluxe. I think theyre medium jumbo.

That neck is not one of Warmoth Total Vintage necks it is a Modern Vintage which looks vintage but is not believe me a Compound Radius neck is not vintage and that one has a radius curve that goes from 10" at the nut to 16" at the heel, thats not vintage! You want fret out on that like a 7 1/4 neck which is vintage.
