Thanks for the article link.. I guess I will not be getting one if USA Today is calling it a $3000 guitar

I love playing my peavey wolfgang but I can't justify that amount of money. I'm sure it's better then the 1st yr qlt I have but twice the price as good! I actually bought a 1999 Les Paul Standard for $1500 earlier this year and ended up selling it because I've been playing that Peavey for 10 years now and it's a kick $@! guitar, tone and all and it's better to me then the Les Paul! Just my opinion!

Can anyone convince me this new one is worth $3000? besides the point that this guitar was handcrafted by Eddie..

We all can't argue the man is one of the greatest for sure but, well.. I guess the wealthy and the irresponsible with there money will be the demographic for this guitar!

Thanks again!

I would'nt even look at the new Wolfgang guitar. Those, the Peavey's, and even the Musicmans, are all the same statement: " If I were to design a guitar, then this is what I would come up with." The truth is, Eddie Van Heineken, still plays his Frankenstein more than any of the others.
I have'nt heard or seen anything new from the VH camp in over a decade. After 30 years, I guess the fire that used to be inside him went out. Now, he sells his name to the highest bidder.
If he makes a new album with this guitar, and it can hit me with the same impact as the first VH album, then I might think about looking at it. Until then, everyone else can dig in their pockets for it.
No thanks.

I hope the $2999 is not true! one more week to wait for the truth!
I could live with $1500 but anything more and I will not be buying one.
I own a first year quilt (1997 Peavey Wolfgang) and If I remember that one cost around $1700 and I still play it today.. very nice guitar!

I would love to buy this guitar next week but will not be able to spend $3000

I was told at guitar center that it is to sell at 2999.00, I dont know if this is true or not

According to Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics: $1,700 in 1997 equals $2,250 today. Is that a reasonable price point?

Yes, much better.. At least there is reasoning for that price but still will not help me get one!

Is the $3,000 price a list price or a street price? If it is list, then this thing would be in the low 2K range, right?

I'm pretty sure you can them for 2500.00. I'd rather buy a Custom Shop Strat for the kinda dough.

good point, if that's the list price then this may not be that bad..that would be more in line with the other signature series lines

The original Wolfgang had the thickest neck I ever felt. Felt like a tree trunk. Don't know how he played it.
Anyone know if original VH is going to record a new album? That I would buy. I was surprised DLR didn't run around much at all during the reunion tour. Maybe he's got a hip issue. I know he practices martial arts like 3x/day starting at 7:30 AM with a Master which explains the fantastic condition he's in.

Because he is old. He forgot the words to "Beautiful Girls" when I saw them last year.

dave is 55 years old and still the greatest
front man of all time. may be not the best singer
but he is with out any doubt the greatest showman on earth.

You want eddie's tone and feel?
Buy a guitar body and neck from Warmoth, add your own hardware, get a Gibson PAF pickup, and unwrap the windings, and rewind it with your own wire, dip it in wax, get Schwinn bicycle paint, and paint your own design on the body, then add your pickup, add your electronics, put it all together and tinker with it until it all works. After that, just keep playing it. You'll get it.

It's really sad but i believe strat-brat is right. Unfortunately along with sobriety came the love for money. It sucks but "EVH", will never be the same.

eddie is a pure genius on guitar and now a master guitar builder.
it will not effect his song writing or touring.
the great Van halen will return this year with a new album
and this time a full world tour.
