I love the attention to detail, the tonal spectrum, and the "feel". What about you? 8) Mike

I love mine a lot. I got the v neck so it fits perfectly with my medium sized hands. Also I found out a really cool trick with the S1 switch. If you push it down just low enough before it activates it will actually lower the volume enough to make it sound like a killswitch. It only works on American Deluxe Strats, not the Tele's. It's kind of cool.

I have a 2001 American Deluxe. There is really no comparison. They are amazing. Mine is a one piece Ash Body HSS, so you can't even get it anymore. It's getting buried with me!

I have a regular 98 mia, but I've played and gigged with deluxes. Great attention to detail, truly elegant guitar. If I get another strat (which I'll never need with my custom strat), I'm sure I'll get a deluxe.

Love, love, LOVE my American Deluxe! Amazing instrument. I am so very glad that I jumped at it and purchased it when I did. I know now that I would have true regret walking into the guitar shop only to find out someone else finally purchased her before me.

The only guitar I have picked up that felt comperable to my American Deluxe was a Custom Shop Wildwood 10 at Wildwood Guitars here in Colorado (beautiful guitars, BTW).

I do not play my dluxe very much, but it is a great guitar. It is the 2004 Straocaster Deluxe 50th Anniversary model. In four years I have put about 15-20 playring hours on it. I mostly play a couple of older guitars.

I love the workmanship on it ...

At first I hated the SCN pickups so bad that I wanted to exchange the entire guitar for a 2008 standard.... after a while I got used to them and began to respect their qualities. They might sound a bit thin, but you can change some of that by adjusting string height and by suing a good eq, I have the Boss eq-20. They are also really quite, which is a biggie for me.

Has anybody noticed that strings buzz more on Deluxes than Standards? I was told by a respectable technician that the wood is more seasoned or drier and its harder to adjust the neck? ..... is that the case with any of you here?

My deluxe buzzes more than my standard at lower string heights .... so I seem to gravitate towards that view, just from my one time experience... but that could just be my case.

Cheers everyone
Hisham

I backed into mine while testing an amp. I got so attached to it after auditioning the amp that I had to have it too. It's been my "addiction" guitar since July. I have an older Strat Plus that is nice, but there is no comparison between this and any other Strat I've played. I honestly don't see how a custom shop Strat can play, or look any better!

Haven't checked that out.Has any one else tried that? I wouldn't want to spoil the switch by doing that.
Check out my comments on my Am deluxe strat on the previous post.[/quote]

I have the Chrome Silver American Deluxe Strat, with black knobs, and pick up covers. I love it. Especially all the tones you can get with the S-1 switching.
