I have heard that Fender Superbullet strings are high tension strings but I could not find any infomation on the Fender website about this. Now I see that Fender sells Bullet standard tension strings which seems to imply that the other bullets are not standard tension. Can someone please tell me where I can get info about this. I have questions:
- Does high tension mean that it takes more effort to bend the string (that would suck)?
- Does high tension mean that you would need to bend the string a smaller distance to get the same change in pitch as a standard tension string. If this were true maybe you could bend with the same force and get the same change in pitch with less displacement of the string (which might be a good thing).

I play blues so I am always interested in making my strings easier to bend without tuning my guitar down to E flat.

I never heard that super bullets were high tension strings .... they differ only in the fact that instead of the ball end they have a bullet end :)
BUT I could be wrong about the tension part though :)

Yes. I use super bullet and they are not different.

For the gauge, I usually use .08 or .09, hard to bend two tones with anything heavier...

Holy cow! 8's! When I went up from 9's to 10's my tone go so much better. 9's feel like silly string now. I cant imagine playing with 8's. I have no problems bending 10's. Lots of blues players use 11 's or higher.

I think that blues players are the worst, to be honest.Like SRV who was making all these funny faces when she bended, like he was raising heavy weights, ridicoulus!

Since you are confortable with 10s, I challenge you to bend your B string, from C (13th fret) to F (17th), keep it in tune and vibrate. You cannot to that with heavy strings, it's impossible.

A lot of GREAT guitarist with GREAT sound play the 0.08, do you want some name?
Page, for instance. Not the last guy in town.
Brian May. This name would be enough, I tried to play his music with heavier strings but you cannot nail his tone,.08 are fundamental
Malmsteen, who said that the story of the decreased sustain with thin string is a myth.
Tony Iommi: he also plays 0.07, detuned one and half step down. And I consider him the heaviest guitarist ever.
ZZ top: opps, he also uses 0.07 now...

So we have five good example of great guitarists from different genres that play 08 or lighter...because they suck at playing?Don't they understand tone?

I use 11's and i can bend two tones with no problems, but it did take a couple of weeks of getting used to bends like that with so heavy strings...
