Has anybody had first hand experience with Warmoth products. They're "supposed" to be in the Fender chain of supply for bodies and necks, or at least have a license to produce them.

They're not cheap, but definitely cheaper than going for a Fender custom shop to suit one's specific whims.

Some of the best bodies and necks I have seen come from Warmoth. It is easy to spend a grand on just a body and a neck from them and it will be nice. Over the years I have put together 3 complete guitars made up from Warmoth parts for people.

Does that include non strat type necks and bodies ... like the LP and VIP bodies.. there shouldnt be a difference from my POV, wood is after all wood, but some people tend to think that their strat parts are superior.

The combination I had in mind was between $1300-1600 depending on your customization. not cheap at all....

so with the benefit of hind sight was it worth it ?

When my Squire neck was broken, I had the neck replaced with a Warmoth neck. It was Bird's Eye maple with jumbo frets, very nice. It was one of the best necks I played on ever. I still kick myself in the butt for letting that guitar go. I would definetly purchace another one if anything happens to the necks of my current guitars.

Tough question to ask on a Fender Forum. I never liked moths of any kind anyway. War or otherwise.

I gotta admit, Warmoth can do some nice stuff. They went from being just a part place, to taking more pride in what they do, offering some more custom-shop level parts and services, and building custom guitars.

There are a lot of very good custom guitar makers around. If I wanted one made for myself, Warmoth would be one of the ones I'd consider.

Warmoth is some good stuff.

Their parts are Fender licensed (that means that Fender has inspected and approved them as direct replacement parts that meet or exceed Fenders quality standards)

I've built 5 or 6 custom "Sortacasters" for people using Warmoth parts. Yup that is what the decal on the headstock says . . . Sortacaster . I think it's a nice touch 8)

They ain't cheap, but they're top notch.

The turtle logo is cool too :D

I heard or read somewhere that you can request an original fender decal if you buy one of those warmoth necks? is that true??? :)

I bought a Warmoth neck when my Squire's neck broke. When I bought mine, I couldn't even get a Squire logo. I do not think you can get them to provide one.

I love the Warmoth doubleneck body they made for me.

Their necks are pretty good too. A couple friends have used their necks on their projects.
