I agree that a HSS (humbucker/single/single) Stratocaster is very versatile.

Got a screwdriver and a little patience?

The pots have codes that give the Year/Week they were made. The neck should have a Month & Year. The pickups could have the date they were made --- take a look at the one that's out of the guitar.

Is that the original pickguard that was modified for the humbucker?

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just an old Stratocaster Nut.

Okay, orvilleowner,
Here's what I got.

First of all...yup, it's the original pickguard, just modified for the humbucker

Next, I found the original pickup...the only number I could find was ON the pickup, not the plastic cover...that number is: 9398 or 9399 (stamped in blue, top right corner of pickup). Hard to see

Sorry for the crappy, blurry pictures.

Here's a couple more, one blurry of course:
This pic is the logo on the case it came in!:

I took this a few minutes ago in the case. I found the string cover when I found the pickup. Didn't realize I still had it, for sure:

Thanks,

The number 9399 gets broken down by
9 - a code for the person who wound it
39 - the week of the year it was wound
9 - would mean 1969 (a 8 would mean 1968)

If the guitar was assembled in early 1969, the parts could have been made in 1968. You gotta look for the Neck Date Stamp and Pot Codes!

It's good that you have the so-called "ashtray" bridge cover. "Ashtray" because that's about all those things are good for.
