Holy Cow...there are a lot of experienced players here and nice instruments.
I'm a 'retired' pro up here in the Great White North! I play at jams and partys & stuff now, but nothin' serious.
I used to have quite a collection, but am now just down to 3 that I use, when I get the chance.
I've had Fender guitars since the early '70's. My main electric was my '68 Strat that I recieved in 1973, from a road guy w/ the Beach Boys band. They were visiting Toronto to do some recording, or playing, I can't remember which. and they an Akai 4000DS S on S reel to reel tape recorder. So, I traded the Akai for for the Strat! The recorder was worth about $400! The Strat has always stayed with me:

I worked very hard as a young player in the '70's, and travelled extensively through Canada & the US, with 'popular' bands of the time.
When you start a family, though, you need to set up roots, and I ended up back on the West Coast of Canada, where I started my life, and I've lived here ever since.
I am now an Instructor for the local Bus Company here in Vancouver. I teach regular motorists how to drive buses!

I still have a nice collection 'old friends'....

This pic shows my old Gibson Hummingbird (I play this the most, now), an old Gretsch, I've had since I was a kid (great action on this old girl), a 1970 Fender F65, I think, acoustic (great guitar, it's retired now, like me!) and my old Strat (old faithful).
Anyway, comments, questions? I have tons for you guys!
Thanks for your site...

Larry

Hay, how's it goin Eh!

Sitting here in the cold of Ontario, you got to watch so your beer doesn't freeze! :)
Cause that would probably be bad, unless you wanted to play beer hunter. :D

Welcome to the Forum. Nice Guitar collection. Very nice Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Hummingbird. What pick up do you have in the bridge postition on the Fender?

I use a pretty 'thick' Fender triangle-shaped pick. The Gibson gets a lot of 'hard use' being strummed.

The Strat has a set of 9's on it...I usually use a lighter pick when playing lead stuff.

Thanks for all the 'welcomes'...I like it here already!
