Hey I think I know the answer to this but had to ask? Im installing new pick ups in my strat (89 strat plus), new pots, selector switch, the whole works. Can I use the extra wire from my pickups to hook my t/v pots to the selector switch (5 position)? And How the hell do these little capicitors sodder on the 1st tone pot? Any responses would be great? thanks

About the wires I would suggests you use new wires because then you can leave the old pickups wired like they came with the guitar and if you decide to sell them or whatever then it is better to leave them wired like that..... plus by wiring and soldering all of the new pickups by yourself teaches you a LOT believe me.... about the diagram you can find wiring diagrams on this site just go to the support section.... :)

Agree, buy a small spool of the appropriate gauge wire and do it all with new parts.

Look at the wiring diagrams for the correct gauge wire to use,
and also any caps or resistors you might need.
Its not just pots and pups in there.

I would remove the electronics as a whole unit, and DO NOT desolder any of it. Just unsolder the input jack leads, and the ground lead, and remove it intact. It is better for you if you ever want to re-install it, or the next owner does if you sell it.
It is also nice to have evrything fresh and new when the new pups go in.
Why did you want to replace those nice stock pickups in your Strat anyway????
