It is an awesome guitar - just spent some quality time with it. Sounds really sweet and clean.

I am pretty lucky.

Shepp.

Sheppardslegion,
your '57 looks gorgeous, If i hadn't buy already my Am Ash Deluxe Strat in Red Cherry Burst, I would have gone for yours!!!

One nuance is I like rosewood neck, better than mapple wich sounds slightly chunkier and that doesn't suit my presonnality....

Congrat on your choice :)

Two thumbs up, and be proud!

Shepp, that is one FINE guitar! The maple neck just looks fantastic on the sunburst. Enjoy and let us know how she plays.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the kind comments. Plays extremely well - the V-shape is soft and fits my hand perfectly. Seems to get flatter as you head for the upper fret area.

I must say that the folks at Fender certainly matched the grain well. It resonates and has the crisp overtones that I am fond of - like in the earlier strats of the day. I had to place some graphite in the nut slots as I notice some creaking and slight tuning issues when using the tremolo. The graphite put that to pasture. Plays wonderful and soulful.

Happy Camper... Shepp...

The '57 and '62 Re-issues are two of the finest production guitars I've messed around with in quite a while. I mean that sincerely, and I own a real 1962 and a 1958. Good job Fender...that type of guitar is ALL you ever needed to do!
