2007 Custom '65 Relic (VOS) Candy-Apple Red, with matching red headstock, trimmed in yellow with yellow Fender spaghetti logo. Rosewood fingerboard, floating bridge. I love it. The comfortability of the neck, along with a very versatile warm-yet-sharp tone, makes for the most incredible guitar I've played! Tis my baby...

Here's my pride and joy... my late 1965 Strat. It was manufactured in December of '65 so it's celebrating its 43rd birthday this year. It still looks good, sounds great and plays great.

I am not sure which I like more ... the git or the case. Nice.

USA-Made 1962 ReIssue Stratocaster, Fiesta Red finish

...but then I had to go and...

Changed the pickguard to an aged mother-of-toilet-seat cream color;

Blocked the tremolo with a small stack of quarters (increased sustain and tuning stability);

Retained and installed the "ashtray" bridge plate, and added a "CUSTOM" badge from an old 1960s Pontiac door interior...believe it or not, the ashtray will increase sustain a bit, because it pushes the saddles together; same principle as G&L's SaddleLok technology...plus it looks cool! 8)

Lightly Scotch-brited the back of the neck; still retained some shine, but made it a bit smoother to play;

Added a push/pull potentiometer on the (center) tone knob that turns on the bridge pickup no matter where the 5-way switch is...enables the neck & bridge to be turned on at the same time or all three pickups at the same time;

Changed the stock pickups to Pete Biltoft's Vintage Vibe SP90s (P90-voiced single coils in the size of a Stratocaster). With that I get the girth and punch of a P90 without sacrificing the sparkle and spank of a vintage Stratocaster;

I figured with all those changes I now have my own "Signature" model, so I signed the back of the headstock just like Jimmie Vaughan's and replaced the neck plate with one that has my band's logo and the nickname of the guitar (Fiesta Red) etched into it! :lol:
