YES YOU SHOULD FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT YOURSELF!!! actually i just said that to be different. Play different guitars for different sounds and tones. There's nothing wrong with it :D.

Yes, I deliberately went out and bought a Gibson LP to complement my Strat and Tele. I actually play the guitars on diffferent songs in our band. My favorite, believe it or not is the Tele. I have stopped using my Ovation acoustic/electric on Eagles type songs, because my Tele just sounds so good on those types. The lesson is, all guitars sound different. Experiment. I enjoy the different sounds I get from all my guitars.

Hmmm ... I have a number of different makes, all equally "just what I was looking for" when I pick that one up. I have a Strat, but I also have three different Teles. For pure old school rock, I reach for my D'Armond/Guild M75T -- the closest to a shred machine I'll ever get.

For rock-a-billy or some jazz, I have large body, semi-hollow Yamaha. For old school jazz/big band, there's the full sized Guild X150. Different guitars for different moods and purposes.

I could probably get around a lot of that with amp settings/peddles but hey ... having lots of guitars is much more fun than messing with the amp.

I'm even fickle on the low end! Fretless P-bass, fretless Ocean with active pups, fretted Gibson SG Reissue, Breedlove electric/acoustic, MIM J-bass 5 string and my T-day weekend new member of the family, the Ibanez 6 string! Once again, more is "funner than fewer."
