S1 to what effect. You could put a s1 in a standard strat and just get a neck on switch. For the full array of a deluxe strats s1 your going to need scn, lace or 4wire singlecoil sized humbuckers.

The S-1 makes more sense if there's a humbucker involved, but on an SSS Strat it also has uses, offering additional series connections between more than one pickup in addition to the traditional parallel ones.

See this page, for example:

Here's the wiring diagram for that setup - now just pick up an S-1 switch and get going!:

Or don't bother. I have the S-1 on an HSS Strat: it adds some slightly different sounds - but probably not different enough to make it worth the effort of all that soldering...

Cheers - C

Only one problem. Fender doesn't sell S-1 switches.

However, the some thing can be done with other commonly available electronic components. But I don't know where to find a wiring diagram.

Really? That's tricky.

They will have to do something about that pretty soon, because I have already read posts here from people who've got broken S-1 switches.

Not that I'll be fitting them to other guitars...

Authorized Fender service providers can get them for repairs.

If they didnt sell em it would open the market for the copiers, whilst fender wouldnt reap any reward from their product :?

I think they're not supposed to do that.

Why Soggycrow? It's just bad business sense not to make product readily available to your market.
