Okay, here's the deal. I can't wait the few months it looks like I'm going to have to if I want to replace my American Deluxe, I need something to play besides my acoustic of I'm going to scream. I've read some good things regarding the 50's Classic Players strat, alot better than I read for the Deluxe players strat, plus it has the setting were I can play it on Neck/Bridge, which I like. How are these guitars?? I love the V necks on the American Deluxe, and Clapton, but how are these? I've heard they're not quite the same as the V on the Americans. How is the quality? If anyone has experience with them, let me know. And don't hold back, I'd like to know the good and bad things you've experienced. Thanks

I absolutely love mine. I can't recommend it enough.
Great vintage feel with new stuff like the two point trem and locking tuners.
The neck is why I fell in love with it at the shop. It's a soft V and it feels great in my hands (which are a bit small).

The neck+bridge option is great, but I ended up modifying mine with a push-pull pot to get the neck+bridge so I could get back the neck+middle as well. If you use that position a lot for hum canceling, then this is something to keep in mind.

Anyway, go get it right now! :)

Are the locking tuners on them the Fender/Schaller ones that they put on the American Deluxe's, or something different? In other words, do they have the screw knobs behind the tuning keys with the fender "F" on them? I've only used the Vintage Noisless on American Standards, and SCN Noisless on American Standards, so I'm not really use to single coils that dont have the noisless option, are they especially "hum" prone, on say, the neck position. I want to try one out, but I cant find any at the stores in my area (and im talking about 3 Daddy's Junky music, and 4 Guitar Centers). I don't really want to buy anything that I cant play first, but my budget has shrunk, so I don't think I can get a replacement for my American Deluxe unless I want to wait for months and months, and right now all I have to play is my acoustic, which is fine, but I really need to plug in soon or I'm going to go crazy.
I'm already setting myself up to spend some extra money for setup to get any Mexican I may end up getting to the point where it's close to what I'm use to playing. But I played a Deluxe Players strat at GC that was so badly assembled, that the whold neck was put on crooked, and the frets were in bad need of dressing, and there were other things that really kind of put a bad taste in my mouth regarding the Mexican Players's strat series. I know that they tend to be inconsistant, so I probably just played the bad one in the bunch, but I'm apprihentious. And the features on all the Players seem to be pretty high quality, so I know if there's a problem with it, it most likely wont be something that can't be addressed by the luthier I use.

They are the Gotoh tuners without the screw knob, so they look just like vintage tuners for the most part. This has some good photos of the tuners:

The pickups hum like a single coil. I really like the sound of the pickups, but eventually I did upgrade them to Dimarzio Area 58 and area 61 in the bridge which are hum canceling.

The neck is actually made in the US, so it has the typical US fit and finish. I think this one is just "Assembled" in Mexico.

I have one as well and agree 100% with eddie. Yeah, the tuners are Gotoh locking tuners. The pickups that come stock are American vintage 57/62's. This guitar is really nice. The fit and finish are just as good as the American's. I don't know if you are aware of it or not but the guitar is custom shop designed. I think you will like the neck. It is a 9.5" radius soft v. I think very similar to the Jimmy Vaughn strat. (Correct me if I'm wrong :) ) I think if you do order one and don't like it, there is a 30 day return policy with GC. Good luck! Ethan
