I was just wondering what the best strings are for a Strat. I've been using XLs for a while, but I've been noticing some problems with tuning when I use my trem. I was wondering if Bullets really make a difference with trems or not. If not, what strings do you guys recommend?

I recommend Ernie Ball. Their a really good all-around string. They go with tremolos just as good as anything else I guess. If I had to pick a second, it would probably be Fender's.

I doubt the strings are the culprit to your tuning problems. If they are, then your not stretching them when you put them on fresh. That's the only thing I can think of.

Hi, I use Super Bullets because if I use my whammy bar alot, like during a performance, the strings won't slip in the tremolo bridge making all kinds of horrible noises. Plus they keep in tone better.

I was asking the same question over at Marshall Music in Lansing and a big Strat fan suggested I try DR's "Pure Blues" and "Tite-Fit". I have yet to put them on but I am very interest in the sound. I have been using Fender's Super 250's and Super Bullets. But variety is the spice of life
I have never had any problems with Fender's before. Just trying variety.
(I have an Amer.Delu.Fat Strat 02)

I agree with Guitar_Hurricane, I think you have a different problem then strings. XL D'Addario are good quality strings.

Stay with the strings you have and take your guitar to a Tech to get it checked out and setup.

Another vote for the Super Bullets. They're GREAT! I, too, use my whammy bar a lot. I'm on my 2nd set.

I, too, recommend Ernie Ball strings. I don't agree with using Fender strings, however. Every Fender set of strings I've ever used have had strings break on me within a month of use.

I doubt the strings you are using would be a problem with your tuning issue, too. Definitely get a tech to look at your tremolo, as CAFeathers suggested. Let us know how it all goes when you get your situation taken care of!

i defiantely recommend ernie ball strings. There are several different types to meet everyones needs and there used by the best, what more do you want?! i use ernie ball super slinky strings because they are bendier than the other strings which is good for me because i play lead guitar mostly.

I would have to recommend Ernie Ball Regular Slinky’s the tone they produce is great and they hold up during aggressive play. I’ve used the fender bullets to and they seem to be a good string as well especially if you use your tremolo a lot. 8)

This is a PS from earlier:
I have an China build Strat from A Strat Kit I bought in Florida and I find the Tuning Keys slip a lot when I use my Whammy bar. I suggest you check your Tuning Keys for slippage.

PS if you ever want to hear an odd story behind my China Strat email me. It's rather long but funny in a weird way none the less.
