Hell yeah!! Here's the 1st: I also changed the pickup color scheme to look like the new ones.

A 2004 HWY 1 HSS in Cocoa.
UPGRADED with:

1 : A Gibson 498T in bridge
2 : 2 Fender Vintage Noiseless
3 : Fender/Schaller locking tuners
4 : Ferraglide saddles

It's a MONSTER!!

New pickguard cut for HSS, and if the body has a swimming pool or HSH rout then just wire the new PU straight in. You might want to replace one of the tone controls with a push-pull pot to split the humbucker so that you can get a more authentic pos 4 on the selector switch.

If the body isn't suitably routed then use the new PG as a guide and rout it using either a dremel or better still, a plunging router. It can be done with a hammer and chisel, but if you're not a skilled carpenter then odds are good that you'll ruin the body.

I got the pickguard from E-Bay (God Bless E-Bay!!) and fortunately the Deluxe Player Strat had the proper routing to do this!

And my luither is GREAT!! He was able to properly relocate the little push button on the Deluxe's pickguard!

Go ahead and laugh, but I had the neck on my Am Dlx "V" scalloped. I must say that they did a great job on it and it has help me develop and practice a light touch.

I'll post pic's as soon as I can get some loaded up.
