The new American Standard strat has (as described by Fender):

Quote:
A new bridge with improved bent-steel saddles and a copper-infused high-mass block for increased resonance and sustain.

This is the first time AFAIK that a 2 point trem unit has been given bent-steel saddles.

Does anyone know whether this new bridge/trem unit (with the bent-steel saddles) is available as a spare part. If so what is the part no. ?

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.

You will also find two-point trems with vintage saddles on the Classic Player '50s and '60s Strats. So happens we've just been discussing those features on two other threads here.

For part numbers, find the guitar on this page and click on the third column over:

Thanks for the directions....

I did check out the Classic Player ‘60s Stratocaster® and the bridge unit was 2 point/with bent steel saddles (just what I am looking for).

However I could not locate the Classic Player ‘60s Stratocaster® in the page you directed me to. (neither the 50s Classic Player Stratocaster® either)

So I am still looking for the part no for the (for a ) two point trem/bridge with bent steel saddles.

anyone ?

Hey, you're right, it's not there, is it?

Strange: you'd have to ask Customer Services about that. However, the American Standard is on that page, and as far as I can see the bridge is the same one - above the waterline, at least. I expect the block is different. The part number for the bridge appears to be 0026095000. But just double check that for yourself...

The American Standard Strat they list there is the 1980s/90s version 2 point trem with the cast saddles and the intonation screws offset into the saddles.

What I am wanting is the 2007 (?) American Standard two point bridge/trem which has the bent steel saddles with the intonation screws centred about each saddle

mmmmmmm never thought it would be this difficult

As written in another thread, I hate these saddles, to me, they're nothing to be improved, besides the "vintage" look of course.

Naturally, the "improved" tremolo was the '80s tremolo, at least that the spirit it was introduced, now they all want to go backwards.

Personally I suggest to replace the saddles with some smooth polymeric ones.
