Sometimes its hard to find information on guitars that are FSR models they do not list info on the Fender site about them. Some have very limited run and others may go into the thousands for whom ever had them made so that they can sell them. My FSR Straght Six Strat. was limited to 831 odd number that is they were being sold by Elderly, Music Zoo, Braunfels, and Fullers.

On the GC site they list it having Standard Tele Pickups not the Tex Mex which I believe are Alnico 5 overwound pickups :shock:

Another one I like is the Lite Ash Special Edition that sells for 639.99 it is not a FSR model though they show the info on the site under spacial editions that one has the Seymour Duncan Alnico II pros and a birds eye neck .

I like that one a lot too, but since GC was selling the FSR I orininally mentioned for $419, and in conjunction with a 10% off coupon, i like the price a lot better. The tex mex pups sound quite nice, I like them alot actually, they get along quite nice with my JSX mini with a 12AT7 in the preamp, the AT7 drops the gain a bit and warms things up quite noticeably over an AX7.

You cant beat it for that price for sure it looks like it may be a right nice guitar to have. I like to check the FSR's out when they show up for sale seems there is alway something standout with them.

I'm happy with it, after some fret work, tinting the neck, drilling the forgotten pickguard hole, and ditching the tort guard fro ablack one, she's a keeper, and has a real 52 vibe for a fraction of the price.

[quote="-Patryk-"]Hello!

This was my '97 American Standard dimed......fitted with an EMG DG-20 pickguard, the guitar was awesome looking.The weight differences may be due to a different routing. The 'swimming pool' routing may have been retired by 2000.

Actually the weight difference is coomon in solid ash guitars. One chunk of ash can be much heavier and dense than another of the same dimesions. For example my recently purchased MIM FSR ash tele, the first one I returened was light as a feather, and sounded a little on the thin and plinky side unamplified. The one now I have is the heaviest guityar I own, and likely have ever owned, its a good bit heavier than my LP, and its sound is fat and ringing and tons of sustain unamplified. Same model guitat from the same run, ash just varies greatly in density, one more very good reason to try before you buy if at all possible.

(cant resist showing off my new no1!)

Thanks for the answers. But even ask. What should you write to the fender? Just send photos and ask: "What's this?"

And yet, and I have a question. I am from Poland and I do not know what it means to FSR? But I would be happy to know:)

Patrick.
