I've noticed on a few different occasions that I seem to get shocked by my Strat.

First I noticed it on the strings.

Today, I had my arm resting on the trem, and it shocked me.

I'm not sure if this is a display of scientific inquiry, or sheer stupidity (or both), but I proceeded to try it several more times, to make sure.

Is it possible that my guitar is grounded incorrectly, causing it to do this?

I use a UPS which grounds everything connected to it correctly ... mmm I would think maybe your amp is not correctly grounded but I could be wrong :)

I've never experienced it with my Squier Strat or my Casino, or any other guitar I've used with the amp - just the Fender.

Were you touching anything else at the same time, like a mic stand, for example?

I can't quite see how enough current to give a shock is getting into your guitar. Something is badly wrong there, and it could be seriously dangerous. Every year musicians are killed by badly grounded equipment. Don't be one of them: get it checked out by someone who really knows.

And be aware, it is likely not the guitar itself, but something else. Maybe the amp or some other gear you are using.

Get it checked by someone qualified in electricals!

Good luck - C

Exactly! It is probably the amp or even incorrect wiring in your house (or room).
