I think Buddy Guy is a great guitarist who loves his stratocasters and one of the first to use a strat for blues, would make a great showcaser for the strat.

How about the late Tommy Bolin and that tone he was getting on Billy Cobham records. :)

Check out Jack Pearson. In particular his CD "Step Out". Although mostly recorded with a G&L, I think it qualifies...

I will put my money where my mouth is.....

Rory Gallagher was very popular in Europe, but much less here in the US.
I've said it before.... there is no other TOP guitarist who could play acoustic, electric and slide guitar of that caliber , sing, write, produce and play multiple instruments ( in this case harmonica, saxophone, mandolin and sitar ).

If you have never heard his second solo album " Deuce" - recorded when he was just 23 - get it. The acoustic solos alone put most guitarists to shame - not to mention the electric ones. If you want to hear a GREAT GREAT GREAT Strat sound listen to the #2 track "Used to Be" one time ...
you'll LOVE the sound. Finally the # 10 track " Crest of a Wave" is possibly the greatest slide solo ever recorded.

If you buy the CD and don't agree this is absolutely GREAT guitar playing
( mostly played on a 1961 Strat ) I'll buy it off you !!!!

Yes, I do.

Vic Flick played the twangy guitar parts on the original James Bond theme on a Strat. Which of us has not tried to emulate that sound - when we thought nobody was listening?

Want another one?

Alessandro Alessandroni played the reverb laden and equally twangy guitar lines on the Spaghetti Western theme tunes on a Strat (Fistfull of Dollars, etc).

Howzat?

Cheers - C

Lincoln Brewster Album "Today is the Day"
track 6 "The Arms of my Saviour"
Very Bluesy with some great chops. Clean with that VOX AC 30 sound to it.

I forgot about one; Hallelujah from Jeff Buckley, its got that great sound, especially when he goes from the into into the verse part, if you play it loud, its got that awesome strat bite.
