I need to replace some bridge height saddle screws on my Strat tremelo, due to the fact that when I have everything set up the way I like it, the screws protrude up above the saddle a bit, and my hand scrapes on it. It is kinda uncomfy, ya know?
I have purchased Fender original strat bridge height screws (part # 099-4928-000) and Fender AM series screws (#099-4927-000) and both are still too long.
According to Dan Erlewines' books, Fender makes four different saddle height screws, 10mm, 12.5mm, 15mm, and 20mm. He says Fender normally uses either 10mm on the e strings and 12.5 on the other 4, or 12.5 for e strings and 15mm for the other 4, leaving the 20mm for extreme situatiions. I have found that not to be the case, from what I have observed.
I would prefer to replace them rather than grind or file the originals to the proper length.
I cant find the staggered height screws anywhere!!! If anyone knows where I can order them from, please let me know. Do you guys run into the same problems?? Thanks as usual!!

One place you can get them from is Callahams website. They have them in two different lengths.

Just to mention a different suggestion..... I had the same problem and I solved it by putting a shim in the neck that increased maybe a milimeter the height so the bridge saddle screws would to deeper into the holes and it worked perfect :)
