You have a point in the perception of the guitar, but it eventually evolves into more than a Plus. It's built in the Custom Shop, according to current findings in these pages. Has a V-neck to Eric's preference, blocked trem, no roller nut, and ultimately a 25db midboost in a TBX circuit. A bit of an individual, no?

Built in the Custom shop?Sure? Its price is like any other signature model...and all the ones I've played didn't have the blocked trem...

One was a '91 green like the one in the discussion.

Anyway, the plus was a better guitar, expecially in graffiti yellow!

At the beginning of the Custom Shop, some models which had a limited production (small demand) were made there. This was the case for the EC Strat.
Mine has a wood tremolo block.

That is a nice looking guitar. I never new they called that 7-up Green always thougt it was called Candy Green.

7 Up was a nickname the official name is Candy Apple Green.

When I bought mine everybody said "How can you buy a green guitar, you'll never been able to resale it !"
So I still have it...

I remember seeing dire straits brothers in arms tour with rhythm guitarist sonny something (i cant remember his name if anyone can fill me in i'd be gratefull). He was playing the greenest strat i've ever seen, nearly dayglo. I thought exactly the same thing, what kind of colour is that? I must say my tastes have matured with age. Seafoam and candy apple are certainly two very appealing colours.

Alain if you still want rid of the CAG i'll slip you a few euro for it  (jk)

To reitterate: Eric is quoted as saying he always wanted a guitar painted the color of a '7-Up' bottle. Trademark law being what it is, I expect the use of '7-Up' was a 'prohibido'. Judging from the interest, it might likely be quite resaleable. The question herein is whether or not the present owner will ever find himself in that state of mind.

Judging from the nature of the collection. I would not expect to see that happen anytime soon. :P

Thou jests :!: What you see is what you get

Well, you see, I'm a Lefty so I've never played a Clapton model. Someone (another Lefty) asked me how to cobble up a Lefty Clapton guitar. I'm trying to figure out the most logical way to do that. Am. Deluxe Strats have the C shaped necks so they're out. Etc, etc. Anyway, that's why I asked.

Love,
Todd

Suggestion: '57 vintage + a "Clapton" pickguard.

We've been kicking this guitar in so many threads I thought perhaps you might be following but, OK, sorry.

What we've recently learned and been able to distill down is this....you can have a luthier like Todd Krause, Clapton's builder, do a 'dimed' southpaw version of the guitar, but you can't have the signature. If you want a modern-C neck on it, you can have it.....again....without the signature. Bottom line is, they'll build anything you want as long as it is reasonable and you're willing to go the freight. Figure $5K as a starter. See an authorized Custom Shop dealer, write up an order with specs and have it priced out to "street", not list.

Hope that's of some help.

Cool. Thank you. I'll start working on that. Sounds rather easy.

Todd

My wife kicks me offline when I'm on the Fender site too long so I'm sure I missed a few of the threads.

I don't think I need a luther to do it for me. I can do a lot of the work when I have a guitar that's close. But I'll look up Todd Krause (like the name already) first and look around. I don't need the Clapton name on it either, I just want to play "his" guitar so I can, maybe, understand his style better.
Thank you very much.

Love,
Todd

Suggest you go to the Custom Shop Forum and read the thread...'Please help with my 2008 Custom Shop Clapton....in its entirety, as well as the "Senior Master Builder" thread, in particular, Lefty's comments AND photos. These may give you some of the insights you seek. 8)

P.S. "Wife Deafness" is a marvelous affliction :P Many of us suffer from it.

Thank you, will do.

Just got the new Guitar Player. Todd Krause is mentioned on page 79 during the David Gilmore interview. Yes, the new guitar is featured.

Re: Wife Deafness - Funny how I can hear 3 guitar overdubs on a recording but I can't quite make out, "take out the trash". Huh?

Love,
Todd
