The pick up’s are way less output than other pickups but there designed that way Yngwie plays with all of his amps dimed and the lower power PU’s keeps his sound from distorting to the moon….He don’t really play any heavy rock or metal rhythms only leads so those pickups work great for him….these pickups surprisingly have lots of low end to them as well….. I use my YJM Guitar mostly for Blues so the Pick ups work great for that application. For heavy music with distortion, I use my les paul…… these are very nice guitars but not for all types of music with the stock pickups…. I been thinking of some Hot Rails I just cant make up my mind if I want to mess with it or not….

Diamarzio Fast Tracks are great pups and have an out put of about 3-1 of a stock single coil.

straycat.... How do the Fast Tracks compair to the Chopper or the Cruser pu's or even the super distortion pick up... are they all about the same output and gain?

yeap, i agree with you ;)

dimarzio YJM is not for the metal music. this pickup has sweet mid, less power, but has good string definition.

dimarzio hs3 / YJM has less power, in order to be combining with high gain / high drive distortion / overdrive.

- low output pickup will work great with high gain / high drive distortion / overdrive
- vise versa, high output pickup will work great with medium gain distortion
- if high output pickup combine with hig gain distortion, the result is too much drive, overload distortion, and less string definition and note.

Yngwie has recently left DiMarzio and joined the Seymour Duncan camp.

The CS Play Loud Tribute has been upgraded with the new pickups. Fender should update the regular Artist Series YJM Strat as well to reflect the changes Yngwie has made to his own guitar.
