or gabba gabba hey :D

I just cant get away from the old punk in me.

Only when I want to be sedated.

PS I live in New York City. There was a long time during which they were the band I'd seen live the most. I played CBGB's too. (Not with them.)

Now it would be Joe Walsh or Todd Rundgren.

Love,
Todd

I haven't done this in a long time, but I believe the best way to find a rational approximation is the use of continued fractions:

I got to take my son to CBGB's the week before they closed it. It's called Morrison Hotel (ya, really) and I believe it's an art gallery of rock art.
I saw MANY members of the Ramones over the years. I know it's dumb but, every time they would rush the front of the stage I would laugh. They had their act down. Made them way cooler. I still wouldn't mind having a Mosrite guitar.

Love,
Todd

check this airline johnny ramone tribute guitar. I'm still gassing for one after a year of resisting.

about halfway down the page here

Certainly better than the $5000 ed roman wants for a mosrite. 'their only cardboard' was a statement made by johnny.

If you compare those guitar at Redstar and the Eastwoods they look like they are made in the same place just like the new Harmony's that are now available are the same as Eastwood's is what I am thinking.

Can something be done with

φ = 1.6180339887

:?:

Here's a scheme for that number. φ is approximately equal to 1 + F, where F is a fraction gotten by the following recursive scheme. Start with the fraction F = 2/5. The next fraction F is gotten by taking the denominator (the bottom integer) divided by the sum of the numerator (the top integer) and the denominator, in this case, F = 5/7. The next fraction in this way is F = 7/12. When you get to F = 343/555, you are fairly close to φ: 1 + 343/555 = 1.618018 .

Continue in this manner to get an approximation that's closer and closer to φ.

Well, while I can't contribute to any of this math talk, I can offer a few pics of my custom figured neck on my project strat. AAA grade birdseye from Warmoth. Looks great when light hits it, almost like a mix between birdseye and flame, similar to the necks on Monterey Pop Strats.

I'll try to get some better pictures where the birdseye really pops.

Three things.

1. Orvilleowner, I am truly impressed. That is very smoothly done: you leave me standing by roadside in your dust stream watching as you zip away towards the horizon.

2. MThomps07, that is a seriously beautiful neck, both fingerboard and back. Those are nice pieces of timber. And the rest of the guitar looks good, too. And lets face it, kinda more the original point of this thread!

3. MThomps07, very nice to see your toes, sir!

Cheers - C

Thank you, ceri. It was a fun little problem.

And MThomps07, that is a spectacular Warmoth maple-fingerboarded neck. I have never come across a Warmoth neck or body that wasn't top shelf. And I love that reverse large headstock!

PS: if you crop the pictures, you can avoid the feet-in-the-picture syndrome!

haha I'm always entirely too focused on what I'm taking a picture of to notice the toes in the shot. I'd crop them and rehost them but it'd be entirely too much effort, so for now you'll all have to enjoy my toes. :)

Thank you very much for the compliments on the guitar. I was so much more than satisfied with the way it came out.
