The pickguard and pick up screws are kind of wollored out and ugly on the '90's MIM I picked up a couple months ago. The only mods reported were Sperzel locking tuners.

The switch screws also seem oversized and dull. I'm not sure why this would be.

Would a guitar shop have new screws?

Also the strap knobs are kind of sharp edged. I think that is pretty standard. I want to change them to Ernie Ball strap locks.

Any thoughts? [/img]

Yes you can get new screws at any dealer or online dealer too... you can replace pretty much anything you want.. :)

I was wondering why the screws were all ugly. I guess I could email the seller and ask what he did. Or just replace them and have it looked over by a luthier.

Also, I have a set of vintage pickups that were taken off a '62 vintage model. I could put them in this guitar at the same time i change all the screws. Would that be worth it? My son bought Lollar pick ups for his.

The vintage covers would look good in this Vintage white with Tortoise shell pickguard MIM Strat.
