Check position 4. It includes a neck pickup option. S1 switch both up and down.

To connect it to the neck pickup alone would have required another switch.

Also check out position 3. with S1 switch down.

I'm seriously considering one of these models if I do not get the 87 Strat Plus I found on a website for a retailer that is based in Ontario.

Depends if they still have it when I get there at the end of the month and also if I'm impressed with how it plays and sounds. It's a good deal at $799 and I feel will also have some collector's value soon since 1987 is a turning point where the Post CBS Fender started to manufacture on US soil again and the Strat Plus being one of the first production models to be made in USA.

While I do intend to play my guitars, I also like to get something that is going to be worth money later down the road. I've always assumed modern Fender and Gibson guitars to be too mass produced to be "investment" guitars with the exception of a few limited edition models. Of what I've read here so far though, it sounds like the Am Dlx holds its value quite well. I might do well to keep one of these in mind if the Strat Plus I'm eyeballing doesn't stick around long enough for me to go snag it. :D
