I just purchased a 2008 Am Deluxe v neck Sunburst this weekend and tonite i popped in the wammy bar-works great especially with the locking tuners.

How do I unpop the whammy bar? I tried ro pull it out but it will not come out-is there a secret on how to unpop it?

Try screwing/twisting it out. The looser feeling it gets, the looser it gets. Eventually it just pops out. :)

Hello Bronco5314,

Welcome to this Forum.

Congrats on that new deluxe.
send over some photos.

After that tremolo arm goes through a few
cycles it'll work like butter.
Snap in tremolo's are the best.

Cheers.

I have a deluxe strat as well. It's a 2004 and the trem arm is still hard to pop out and I have read somewhere that this how it should be. Once you're done with the fright of breaking something, it's fine...lol

Thanks everyone for all of the infomation. I just took a hold of late last night and kind of twisted, pulled, and it popped out and nothing broke.

I really like this guitar so far. Soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will.

At the back of the trem block there are two allen wrench adjustments for trem bar tightness. You probably would have to remove the strings and the trem springs in order to take out the trem bridge out and do any slight loosening or slight tightening of the adjustment screws. In some cases you can access one of the adjustment screws by pressing down on the the bar. A new guitar will have the bar very snug. You have to put the guitar on a firm protective surface like a carpeted floor or very stable table with blanket or similar on top and very gently and firmly coax the whammy bar out by pulling up while slightly turning the bar back and forth.
