Hello fellow strat users,

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for being so helpfull with your posts and replies to any subjects thrown in this forum. It is after reading countless posts that I have finally taken the plunge and got my first strat
ever (and I 've been playing for 20 years now...). So I started to shop around and ended up buying a used one...but oh my God, I'm in love with this freakin' thing! I went through 3 sets of strings in a month! No kidding! My decision came down to this one after reading some your comments, so again, thank you guys. ...I'm trying to put up some pics
but I'm not quite sure how to do it!

20 minutes later... I don't know for sure, how to put up some pics...lol

She's a beauty.

Great new friend to have. Treat her right and spend a lot of quality time with her, and she'll take care of you for the rest of your life.

Well thanks guys. Here's a good one. The previous owner didn't know much about guitar (my guess), because the set up on that guitar was so bad, that he left it in its case and bought a MIM telecaster instead.
The strings gage was like super X-light (.008"), the bridge was sitting flat on the body, multiple fret buzz, I coudn't do a full bend past the 12th fret
without loosing the note, the neck was bowed and the bridge and neck pickup were set at their maximum height. So thanks to this website,
I have been able to fix all off those issues in one hour. Now she's playing like a dream.

I don't know about yours but this guitar "squeals" sometimes. It's hard to describe (I'm French, Quebec, Canada). You can do a bend, cool, but if you hit the string a little harder, you can hear it, it sings along, the sound does change. Really hard to describe. The best exemple of this would be David Gilmour's ending solo on "On the Turning Away". I just love it.

Gorgeous instrument, love the gold contrasting the sunburst finish.

PS: C'est plaisant de voir quelqu'un de ma province à ces forums!

Well, greetings to Quebec.

Been to Quebec City and Lorretteville many, many times (family there). Great town, lots of fun, truly beautiful city, and lots of very hot girls :)

I was bidding on one of the same model strats at eBay, brand new, never been out of the case, auctioned by a charity in Nashville, TN.

I was outbid by a bid sniper at the last second and I was depressed at losing it ... BUT

I searched on eBay with hopes of finding another one and found the American Deluxe I now have for one heck of a good price and like brand new. I contacted the person selling it, and knew the whole history of the guitar before I ever bid on it. He is a fellow musician and we have since become cyber friends.

I was lucky to find "Honey" and am totally happy with her.

I know you are ecstatic at having your 50th anniversary strat. She is a beauty and basically, we have the same guitar except that yours is the gold plated model. The Am Deluxe series is Fender's flagship of the strats and we are both lucky to have one of them.

I wish you many years of enjoyment with your new baby.

:)
