Interesting thread. I have considered undertaking such a project, but at the end of the day, it's so much easier to use the 6-screw bridge and change the saddles (and possibly the block). I've seen examples of some of our members here who have done this and it gives you about 95% of that modern Strat look (if that's a criteria you have - it is for me actually) and once properly adjusted will work just fine.

Thank you so much Ceri, at least someone actually wants to help me and takes me seriously.

Easy there. We all are willing to share our insights and opinions about any given subject, but lighten up a bit. Don't get too upset over tongue-in-cheek remarks or even mild sarcasm. But anyway, good luck with your project and welcome to the forum.

Resurrecting a 5 year old Fender tremolo thread. Lets give it up for the SuperV Tremolo! Donnie, I think you have a future as a hand model! Great presentation on that tremolo. :D

Actually that's a picture from a Guitar World review.
I saw that someone else replied to this old thread.
But my answer was better than anyone elses.
It requires no modification.
Its a do it your self gig.
For instance a Fender American Special Stratocaster in an awesome guitar.
My fav but... The tremolo and machine heads are the sucky Mexican Standard ones.
Simply adding staggerd or locking tuners and a Super Vee Blade Runner tremolo.
You get killer usable Stratocaster with all my fav features.
Atomic humbucker good singles and a tremolo you can actually use.
