Well, i voted maple because that's what i play right now, but i actually don't really care what kind it is.

I own many of both but my final choice is always maple. The feel is more direct even with a maple cap, it's more bright, with a more accurate feel.
Rosewood has more body and warmth; ebony is incredibly sensuous, if of the best quality....

I prefer rosewood boards but I also like maple. My next Strat will have a maple board.

I'm debating between the 57 and 62.
and the maple/rosewood is my main concern.

Seems like maple has a slight edge over rosewood, and for good reason.

Personally I prefer maple because it looks nicer, and has more sustain? and its more smooth. But it gets dirtier than rosewood after playing. You have to choose neck after the finish/color of the body I think. Honey Blonde goes with maple, and Sunburst with rosewood and so on... But all in all, I think both the necks are the same in action, not in looks, so its a matter of taste...
