Out of the 2, I'd have to go with maple... just for the feel. I especially love maple fingerboards on Teles... Strats I actually prefer with rosewood because of the tone. I still think ebony is the best, though.

I like the look of Maple when it is aging, but I prefer Rosewood for playing.

I've been playing on a rosewood neck since I started playing and I prefer it over a maple neck because I like the darker sound, it also feels great too.

Maple rules if you are over 40 and like to wear shades on stage.
Can't see a rosewood board, the dots are too small. Plus I think maple necks are faster.
Kind of like gibson's ebony and pearl stuff too. awful fast and smooth

Old rosewood, pre 1969 feels different after it had been played for years. It gets slick like maple, feels nice too. Have a couple of those also

that's my 2cents

I like rosewood too but not on a strat or tele.

ITs kinda like your missing the point of fender!

Each one has there benefits, different hammers for different nails.

Right know I'm enjoying Maple.

I've been a rosewood guy for many years until I bought a 2005 American Deluxe with a Maple neck... I am now a believer!

I have a clapton signature with maple, and I love it because it's pretty aged and it gives great warm sounds, but I have to go with rosewood, I love the tones that my HM Strat gives with the rosewood.

It really depends, I don't find much variation on rosewoods, which I like.
But the quality of maple really changes over the years.
Older maple's sound better than newer one's in my opinion.

Maybe on a bass, but not a Strat.

Aesthetics? Rosewood on the sunbursts; maple on everything else.

As for tone, maple for blues/light rock; rosewood for the harder stuff.
