I think maple fretboards are infinitely better than rosewood or anything else on a Stratocaster. They look and sound (among other things) much nicer.

If I had to choose it would be maple, but love them both. IMO the maple sounds brighter then the rosewood....

Come to think of it, I've never seen a Strat in Lake Placid Blue with a maple fingerboard. Has anyone?

My strat has a maple fretboard, but my Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and Tele have a rosewood one. I think the next thing I'll do to my stat if anything is put a new neck on it with a rosewood fretboard.

After playing on stage where it can get dark, I definately cast my vote for maple. Just for looks though I like to have at least one of each.

All of my guitars have rosewood, but I'd love to have something with a maple fretboard.

I Like rosewood more because of the tone. Although, the type of fretboard wood is more of a preference issue.

I love the sound of rosewood, and the look of rosewood with abalone fret inserts. Really classy.
