If it has a serial number on it, we may be able to tell you what year it was made. From there you can look up the colors. It sounds like it may be a Midnight Wine paint job. The pick guard might be a modification. Sounds like a cool looking guitar. Does it play well? How is the sound?

Is the "maroon" a solid color or is it a stain with the grain showing through. If it's the grain showing through and you have a black pickguard, maybe you have a mahogany body strat. You might check those out and see if that's it. Is there a humbucker in the bridge position?

Thank you RKR. It is a 2007 MIM midnight wine. I shielded the cavity, added a graphtec nut, changed the pick guard and knobs to black
and changed the pickups to DiMarzio area 67 area 58 and PAF pro humbucker.

When I got done I looked at it and thought if Angus Young went from an SG to a Strat this is what it might look like.
