Truth be told I'm just starting to realize what a utter tone machine my baja tele is. Playability is well up there too, as is solidity. When comparing it to my 57hotrod i certainly dont see £800 difference in quality, £200 worth is a generous estimate.
Don't bash the MIM's their a very respectable instrument if my baja is anything to go by and its not what this posts about.

I have a 1996 Deluxe Fat Strat and a 2003 Classic 50's Stratocaster, and the Made in Mexico and serial # are both on the rear of the headstock, so this is not a new thing for MIM Strats, only the Standard models.
It is nice to see a plain headstock, like the older MIA models. Retro cool......

For the purists...this is the "offset waist" relief and it appears, from the photo to be vintage '57 in its contour. 8) They should have designed that into the '08 MIA Standard.

Read some of the specs. "High mass trem block"...very interesting.!!

I don't really like the new logo it's to big for me, but I like the idea of a tinted neck.

I guess it's starting to grow on me. I never really disliked the new logo, it was the price i did not like. As mentioned in this and a few other threads I've seen...it still is a an affordable price when all things are considered.

I voted no on this change, especially on the Telecaster headstock. The change will make it harder to realize you may have a MIM in your hands, 'cause I can't feel a difference. I think the only difference will be the number of frets: 21 on a MIM, and 22 on a MIA. Besides, I'm am a proud owner of a MIM Tele. Now the newer guitars will not have that vintage vibe look, that so many players want. However, most players like me want an updated axe, not the same as your fathers.

I still think the best decal logo job was on the '70's Stratocaster. Too bad the guitar is just trash. The pickups are the worst I've heard on a Strat. The headstock is oversized and looks like a treble clef. I love this look. I like looking at this guitar, but playing it is like screeching nails on a chalkboard.

The "new" logo looks like the one on my old '71 Mustang. Interesting idea. Does that mean only MIJ guitars will have the old CBS logo now?
