Fender Japan makes a good product but they don't import to the US. You have to get them used or from somebody who is willing to buy and have them shipped from Japan. E-Bay is one of the places you'll find them.

My son has an early 1980's James Burton "Pink Paisley" Telecaster reissue. It sounds and plays great. Fender Japan is producing it again right now.

I bought my MIJ Fender here in Glasgow, they have a few on display. As you say Soggycrow, they make a fine guitar. I'm surprised they're not available in the US.

We used to be able to get them easily in Europe till not so long ago. But, apart from a few models such as reissue Jazzmasters and such, that has all changed - as I found out recently. Spent weeks chasing around after a reissue red '57 Strat. Finally found a nice shop to order one direct from Japan. But that was weeks ago: every week I think it surely must have arrived by now, but...

After all this it had better be noticeably higher quality than the Mexican Classic Series '50s, or... or...

BTW: Snowy, I can't find those Tele pics you said you posted. Can you point me at them, please?

Cheers - C

My wife says that - when she catches me looking at pictures like yours - I'm looking at "guitar porn".

Nice Tele's

Love,
Todd

If it's from the "Fender Japan" time period they were some really kickin' guitars.

I must say that my '72 reissue Pink Paisley Stratocaster(1984-87 E8xxxxx serial #) is one of the finest Strats I have ever played, bar none. I know that it is unAmerican and all, but it is true. I bought it new in 1988, and it has been one of my "keepers" ever since. Other Strats have come and gone, but not my Japanese geisha girl!!!

Yeah, where is that guitar?

Are you sure you weren't dreaming that you ordered it?

Thanks for posting your pics too.

Yes, it fairly roars. The UK should be proud of the Marshall amp heritage.

I'm beginning to wonder that myself. I was clearly way off when I supposed it was floating up the Suez Canal at that point. It had better show up soon or you are going to start thinking I was having an EddieVanHalen moment, if you take my meaning...

When did you first plant this idea in my mind, Orvilleowner? So much for impulse buying.
