Hi from argentina, i`m new here! well my modification was a EMG DG20 David Gilmour pickups, LSR Roller nut, Callaham Vintage S bridge, a shortened tremolo arm and schaller locking tuning keys... and a white dimarzio strap lock. the cost was of 3500 argentinian pesos or aprox 1100 USS.. maybe it is expensive, but it will last forever.
and the guitar is an a red american vintage ´57 (like david gilmour :P)
i must say that my english is poor, but i´m studying! :D

As cool as even OWNING two 1947 Indonesian coins is, it gives me an easier idea - though way less cool - metal washers.
In my wierd and never ending quest for different items to use for picks - I've aquired a bunch of metal washers.
Not as pretty, but cheap.

Love,
Todd

How cool - you LIVE there. So, do YOU have any Indonesian coins that old? Is there an old coin center there? Are you using them for straplocks?

Love,
Todd

...and if you ever need a little extra money for a beer or a bus, it's right there on your strap!

Love,

Ceri's point is great and something I forget since mine is already like that. I have my bottom tone as the master tone for all pickups, including the bridge. The middle tone on mine is actually a volume fader for the JB Jr pickup, so I have some extra tones between single-coil and full humbucker. And most of the time, I have this at about half, so I have that single coil grit, but a little less noisy since half of the other coil is on making a buck the hum a little more.

My most cost effective mod was blocking off my Strat's bridge with 2 extra strings and tightening down the claw. The tech was nice enough to do it for free. (Now THAT is cost effective!) :D

before buying my Strat
i was playing with a nylon classical
and pressing real hard for my fretting hand
i played the same on my electric
and my fret hand fingers were peeling severely
after changing the string gauge from 9's to 10's
the problem was solved
otherwise it had no any other modifications
maybe just a Jimi Hendrix " South Saturn Delta"
cd sticker on the backplate
that's all :)

I just dropped a loaded pick-guard with CS69 equipped with push/pull switch in an American series 2004.

It made a Huge difference in soun. It cost 225 for the pick-guard/PUPS and 10 for installation.

Peace
HS
