nothing on the planet is going to be identical but Kinman are well worth looking at. If their good enough for hank marvin their good enough for anyone.

Personaly im very happy with SCN's. Less so with vintage noiseless.

I agree. I also feel the same way about DiMarzio's Virtual Vintage Area series.

I've used Kinmans and currently use DiMarzio V.V.As. Both brands are tremendous. IMHO, there are none better nor any that even come close. For my specific stylings though, the DiMarzios edged the Kinmans out. YMMV.

Thats advice well worth taking, Martian's knowledge in this area is far superior to mine. Lets face the fact that dimarzio were the people to patent the PAF name.

+1 for the Dimarzio Area 58. You can't go wrong with those IMHO.
Also you can use an Area 61 in the bridge so it wont be as shrill and will have a bit more output.
I have an increadibly noisy house (electrically speaking) and these were a life saver. They are quieter than my Les Pauls humbuckers but still sound almost exactly like regular single coils.

And in addition, try an Area 67 in the neck. There isn't a crisper, slinkier neck pickup out there for a Stratocaster!

WooHoo! I'm glad it worked out for you. It was THE best purchase I made for my Strat.

I've been very happy with my Fender Vintage Noiseless, but maybe I should check those Dimarzio's out too. I've been told I have a microphonic neck pickup. I get this static sound when my fingers rub against the pickguard when using the neck or neck/middle pickups. Does that sound right to you guys?

Never heard of them. The only holy grail I ever tried was the reverb pedal, which I think is the best reverb stompbox out there.....but I digress.
