hows everyone doing?
Ive been playing for a few years but have never replaced a neck so pardon my ignorance.
I recently purchased a Highway one body (loaded). I want to put a vintage style type neck on it (think 57' or 62') but am not sure if I will have to make any type of adjustments (other then a normal setup). I know the hwy 1's have the huge 70's headstock with the 2 string trees.

Could I simply just put a diff. neck on , or will I have to make other adjustments?
Thanks in advance

-Vinnie

Most strat necks should fit with no problems. You may need to shim but that is minor thing.

Coco,

Do you have the Highway 1 neck? I want a maple neck, especially the 70's headstock for my '97 Hot Rod Standard. Would anyone have any information that provides me with a solid dealer for spare parts such as this? I really reaaaaaally want a maple neck with the 70's headstock.

I once managed to get a US neck on a squire body - But I had to fill and re-drill the holes in the body as they are ever so slightly out of line!

Really? You redid the holes in the body, rather than the neck?

Red Scare, Fender don't sell replacement necks except under quite unusual circumstances. You have two options: either a Fender licensed neck from a maker such as Mighty Mite or Warmoth (Google to find them).

Or look on Ebay. People parts out Strats there so you can buy necks on their own. Wait long enough and you may find the one you want. But beware of fakes! If you are not certain, don't buy!

Cheers - C

Yeah that's what I did - as obviously the body (squire) was a LOT cheaper so I wouldn't have minded as much if I ruined it - I'm no pro with woodwork so to damage the neck would be catastrophic for me!
