Hello all,
I've been a Telecaster player for 20+ years and I've been hunting for a Stratocaster for about a month. I found, played, and purchased a nicely strange Strat this weekend that I can't tell if it's a new model option, FSR, or something else.
It had "Standard Strat HSS" on the tags but it's got a quite glossy Sienna Sunburst finished body and a rosewood board on a deeply vintage tinted neck with the satin finish. Also there are standard sealed tuners and a tortoiseshell scrath guard. It looks, sounds and plays like you wouldn't believe.
The serial says it's a 2008. I guess that I'm just curious to see if any of you out there have any thoughts.

Unfortunately, I don't have a camera handy.

I forgot to mention that it's Mexican.

I have the same MIM HSS standard. Mine is gloss black w/ a white pickguard and rosewood ftretboard. It's an absolutely awsome axe to play and listen to.

Congrats!!

Oh, and mines an 07. Don't know what if any changes there were in 08.

I'm thinking that it was possibly a special ordered guitar with a different finish for $100 more. I was really looking for a Lonestar, but since nobody stocks any products that I'm interested in, I found it to be the best strat around.
