Just picked up a used hwy 1, I got the original receipt form a local store with the proper serial # and it is listed as Hwy 1 on the receipt.
It however is 2 tone sunburst ( satin finish ) has a 50's headstock and a single ply pickguard, vintage bridge. Serial # dates it to 2006. Doesn't match up to Hwy One specs though. Headstock does have made in U.S.A by the way.

It may be one of the old style Highway One's before they updated them. They had a smaller headstock and non reverse wound middle pickup. Sorry I can't be of further help.

The 70's headstock was introduced in July of 2006, so if it was produced before July then the 50's headstock matches up (I have an '02 Highway One myself with the 50's headstock). Not sure about the 2-tone sunburst however, a lot of colors were discontinued, such as Teal Green Transparent which is the color of my Highway One.

Thanks, it must be an early 06 than so that clears that up what about the single ply pickguard ? was that standard on previous models? What does your 02 have?

That was a special run of Highway Ones, a '50s edition, obviously. It's quite legit.

Dave's Guitar Shop (LaCrosse, WI) sold them, but I don't know if it was exclusive to them or if other select dealerships also sold some. If you email Dave's, I bet they'd be able to give you more details.

The HSS version of the Highway One Strat has always had the large headstock, by the way, from it's introduction.

I can't speak specifically to the Highway One Strats, but my 2004 Highway One Texas Tele is pretty much a 52 reissue with as far as styling and hardware goes. I think you're on pretty safe ground.

I wasn't too concerned since I have the original receipt ( w/ Serial # ) from a reputable dealer but I was curious since it was slightly different.
Thanks for the replies its always nice to know what you have.
