I am sure that most of you know of the woman tone made by clapton in the 60's. (for those who do not, it's when you take a Gibson guitar, or any other guitar with respective tone controls for each pickup, switch to the back pickup, and turn the tone down.) I could get a similar tone (from sunshine of your love), as i am sure many of you have, by switching to the neck pickup, and turning down the tone control on the neck pickup to about 4-6. It's really cool, because it has the bass (somewhat) of a humbucker, but retains that quack of a strat pickup.

I think the EC signature strat in the boost mode can get real close to the "woman" tone.

Is that how he got the tone on "SWALBR" on the Disraeli Gears Album. I seem to remember reading in the 60's that on the early albums EC used a Fuzz Face. But again, that was 40 years ago and even though I have a photographic memory, I sometimes run out of film.

I find it useful to back off the tones to half and then rock my wah pedal back, I get some great tones then!!
