I have bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff from them, including my 57 vintage Stratocaster/amp in early August! Everything arrived in perfect condition. However, I can't say much good about UPS(their carrier). Also, it appears their prices are great.

Yes! I bought a MiM Standard Strat from them a couple of months ago and it arrived in great condition. I've since purchased a few more items from them without problems.

I'd buy what you want from somewhere else, seriously.

I bought a strat from them, and when I got it, it had a dead pickup. Not their fault, I know. For the trouble they agreed to overnight me another one after I returned the previous one. Well I got the overnight shipment and..... it was a Marshall barstool (yes you read that right) with a Fender Strat packing slip.

Another call to them to complain and they said they'd send another one right away. Week later and nothing arrived, I called them back. I asked where my guitar was and they had no clue what I was talking about. I had to get the representative on the phone I originally talked to just to get it figured out. They finally sent out another guitar, which was scratched, and I gave up and just took the return.

Total time - over a month from the original order, and I still ended up with no guitar. At least they let me keep the bar stool.

Try SamAsh.

I have had a lot of success with MF. The only problem I had was a couple of yrs ago when they were moving their warehouse and they lost a shipment of mine. I also heard a lot of problems during that transition. They have been perfect since that time (for me anyway). Most recent purchase was my '08 Strat which is AMAZING!

I like to buy things from local music instrument shops. The very important thing being that I get to try out the stuff before I buy. That website along with others is a good starting point for research of available models and their prices.
Plus it's good to keep local folks working.

I've bought a '72 Fender Tele Thinline, a MIM Fender HSS Standard Strat, and an American Deluxe Strat, from Musician's Friend. All came in perfect condition, within five days, and they're all still going strong.

I've also bought parts, tubes, and other miscellaneous things from them, also with no problems. And an amp.

I like purchasing big price items that way, due to the fact that I don't get charged sales tax, since they're located out of my state.

+1! I live in a rural area with only a couple of guitar shops in the neighboring county. I try them first. If they can't get it I go through MF. However, I have never bought a guitar from them, and I never would. Once, I set out to buy a new stratocaster & went to a local store & tried 3 mia strats before I found one I liked. All guitars have their own unique personality. It would be safe to say that a person could play 2 american standard strats that were consecitively built and like one better than the other by far. Besides, trying before buying is part of the excitement! :)

I bought a Strat from World Music Supply, and everything was fine. I also got an amp through SamAsh.com with no problems.

I think most of the more established places are fairly safe bets.

Hello Absynthe52,

Great deals, sometimes. Sadly I recieve
to many emails from them telling me
of upcomming sales 2-3 a week.

Never had a problem with any product
I've purchased from them.

Cheers.
