Rick Derringer's Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo

Rick Derringer - a proud son of Ohio. Born as Rick Zehringer. Played lead guitar for the McCoys. Think "Hang on Sloopy." He did the vocal as well on that one. The guitar solo is pretty blistering.

Hang On Sloopy is the official rock and roll song of the State of Ohio. Not sure how many states have a state rock and roll song.

No one specifically mentioned mine yet so I'll go ahead and say what it is. "Comfortably Numb" P.U.L.S.E version

Enjoy! http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=4-MLxgkiPNg

How about a pop song solo: Elliot Easton/Cars "Shake It Up".
Tight and to the point with great tone and a beginning, middle, and end.

Love,
Todd

No doubt in my mind... SRV's Little Wing. It has everything. Personally I think that that song is the best example of recorded electric guitar playing.

I personally like any thing from Tom Morello. When I first heard "Bulls on Parade" I couldn't believe those turntable sounds were coming from a guitar. He may not be Jimi Hendrix, but he sure is a formidable guitar player.

Great choice, but I believe even SRV would pick Jimi's version first.

Love,
Todd

I agree with Todd. SRV solo is awesome but he'd say Jimi's is #1.
How about Machine Gun live with Band of the Gypsy's?

You're preachin' to the choir, brother.
Do you have Rainbow Bridge? Pretty amazing.

Love,
Todd

PS I do have the "Hendrix Pedal" (Digitech). And I'm pretty good with a wah.
