I love to pick up used Fender guitars, and I would like to know if there is a way to determine if the pickups on the Strats or Teles I would like to buy are ceramic or alnico. Is there a way to tell from visual inspections?? How about DC henries or resistance values?? Some guitars are mysteries, and I can find nothing about them. FSR and Special Edition guitars are unique, and therefore hard to identify.

The ceramics on a MIM Standard don't even look like conventional pickups. Yoiu can't miss those from a mile away...
