I don't know what was wrong with me when I was young .... but I never did have that overwhelming desire to get a bassoon back then. Lead bassoon players weren't considered to be a desired musician among the pretty young females that came out to hear bands play, so I went for playing the drums, then guitar.

I guess I really missed out a lot by not getting into bassoon rock licks, but .... Oh what the heck .... I have had some really full and rewarding years as a guitarist.

I wonder how the younger modern pro bassoon players came to choose their instruments.

Perhaps we should have a thread or forum section dedicated to the really great bassoonists of the past century, and even maybe Fender could release a 1950s vintage bassoon and some really nice addons like a wireless transmitter for bassoonists.

I guess having custom built bassoon amplifiers is a little premature at this time.

I am really hoping to hear a really good bassoonist at the jam session tonight.

Does anyone make a tweed bassoon case?

For a possible Black Friday purchase, I am not regrettably thinking about a Fender product, rather a Crate V33H is in my view.

That's an amp head, 33 watt, Chinese-made all-tube amplifier. I wonder what kind of price I might find at the big internet retailers?

Too bad only 15% off in GC.

Yep, I got my GC e-mail touting 15% off . . . but not on everything. For all of the mailers, e-mails and radio ads they churn out, they have just two sales a year. As was stated earlier, with the economy such poor shape they may want to generate more foot traffic by lowering prices on items people actually want. But I wouldn't hold my breath . . .

So driving a bassoon is dangerous?[/quote]

Even Geiko won't insure 'em.
Their brakes are terrible and they have no airbags.
You can always replace your Fender and they drive great.

Ya, I went there.

Love,
Todd

i received in the mail a guitar center specific mailer and coupon for an amount off any squier or fender product from 11-17 through 12-07. But no where on the mailer does it say the percentage of the discount. I am going to gc on black friday and know about the 15% off. but has anyone else received the guitar center fender mailor and if so do you know the amount of the discount?

I got one too, and they did not indicate what the percentage off was. Also, don't expect to be able to use it this weekend, because they tend to not allow a combination of coupons and sale prices, especially not "Black Friday".

15% friday and 10% the rest of the weekend. But it doesn't mention Fender at all.

Love,
Todd
