I also want to take this time to tell everyone; don't put yourself in the position I'm in right now. Thankfully, i kept pretty good records of my guitar for the off chance that it shows up in a pawn shop or guitar shop. Make sure you photo your axe, get every angle, wright down every nick and scratch, make sure you have your ser# recorded somewhere. If you have homeowners insurance, make sure you have your gear listed. They have insurance specifically for music instruments, I was thinking of getting it a couple of days before it was stolen, just didn't do it in time (although I think if I did, it would have been a fight with the company if it got stolen a couple days after i got the policy). I feel like my child's been kidnapped, and I dont wish this on anyone. We all know how attatched we get to our instruments, especially ones that that feel so natural in our hands. To spend what is allot of money to me, (an amount that makes it seem that I may not get the chance to get another one for years to come because of financial issues I'm facing, is the worst feeling in the world. PLEASE!! Take the precautions now to insure that your beloved guitars, and amps stay with you, and are not use as a bartering chip for some dirtbag to score a $20 bag of dope. Much love to all.

This links into our discussions on the Custom Shop Thread about guitars one gigs with. It's a judgement call.

I have my gear on the Homeowners policy as a Rider with my Guns and some other things.

I took photos of my guitars a long time ago, along with the serial numbers and posted them on my computer in the event that something like this should ever happen. I own my own home and have an excellent alarm system but one can never be careful enough especially in today's world.

I'd also put it down on paper somewhere. I've had a couple of computers that "went down for the count", never to return again, and lost all info inside of them. I know put important stuff on a memory stick. Another reason.....the burglar may also steal your puter with the info inside it.
