Thanks to all who helped, but it doesnt matter now. I went home last night, and someone broke into my apartment and stole my strat. I've played off and on for 20 years, always wanted a real (American made) strat, finally was able to buy it, and some scumbag took it. What really gets me is that whoever stole it (im sure it was someone in my building) doesnt even know what its worth, and is probably going to trade it for a $50 crack rock. :(

Unbelievable. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Make a police report and give them the serial number and description (photo if possible). Some jurisdictions have a pawn shop detail looking out for stolen goods. If not then you might want to check a few pawn shops around you in the next week or so just on the off-chance that you find it. It's a long shot but these kinds of thieves aren't rocket scientists and they might have pawned it close by.

Also you might post a "stolen" notice on your local craigslist.

Truly sorry to hear about this.

Check Music Stores in you area.
Make sure you check www.craigslist.org for you local area. It may show up in the Musical Instruments section.
Also keep an eye on eBay.

Thanks people, that's exactly what im doing now, blasting out phone calls to pawn shops, and music stores. I got ripped off 8 months ago for a laptop and ipod, so I dont have much hope in getting it back, though a guitar isnt as easy to sell as a laptop or ipod, so maybe the guitar god will smile on me.

Dude, I am truly sorry for your loss and definitly feel your pain. I am disabled and cannot work anymore and if I lost my guitar(s) and\or amp I don't think I could go on. I'm sure others will agree with me that I'm sending out a prayer that your baby will return safely.
