You've essentially turned your strat, not into a fat strat, but into a grossly obese strat. Very nice! Or even, a "Strut"?

Hehe! It's the family portion bucket meal Strat!

Cheers - C

Cool thing, I like the idea... I don't have a stratocaster, but it's my biggest wish to have one! Be happy to have one.... :)

Thanks. Yeah wish you could hear this thing on my roomates triple rectifier and vintage marshall 4x12 cab. It's quite wicked.

I was about to ask you how it sounds, but I see it's wicked.

Sorry to hear you have to sell it.

I think three humbuckers would interfer with my picking, unfortunately. So I will live with my SSS or HSS strats.

Good luck

Thumbs up. Verrrry cool. However, let me ask the idiot question...

I have played triple humbucker Les Pauls before. I found them very difficult to play. There is very little room for me to pick or strum. I was always hitting that middle pickup so much that the git was very hard for me to play. Do you have issues hitting the mid pickup when playing?

My 06 'burst is HHH which I did myself (I prefer to call it "triple fat"). The neck and middle hummers are single coil sized DiMarzio Pro Tracks (aesthetically speaking I prefer this to 3 full sized 'buckers). The 3 humbuckers in conjunction with the S-1 Switching produce some really cool tonal options.

For anyone interested, it's easy enough to do and sounds phenomenal

I too like to hot rod Strats. I do have one question tho. Why did you use pickup mounting rings for your humbuckers? It looks kinda odd when the volume knob is right against the bridge unit. On my HSS Strat, the bridge humbucker is mounted to the pickguard w/o the ring. Justa thought...

I'll try to answer all the questions here. Number one..this was an experiment so I did learn a few things along the way that I will do different next time..I HAVE to build more of these..it's just too cool not to.

Ok, I used trim rings because I modified a standard SSS strat pick guard..which has pre drilled holes that do not line up to the humbuckers. So it was purely an asthetics thing, I didn't want to see extra holes. The solution for that is to use a blank pick guard, which I will next time, I found a place that sells them blank, which can solve alot of minor issues.

The volume control is not actually against the pickup trim..it is actually above it and functions well with no rubbing, however you can't really tell that by the pics.

As far as getting in the way with picking..I will admit it does a little..but not enough to really bother me, might just be my style..but since this is more or less a skate punk type guitar..it is more designed to be hammered away on anyhow..it is a high output machine, a more standard pup config is better suiting for a different style player. But I am able to play rock, metal and even clean blues on it without much pick interferance.

Now someone suggested in an earler reply that I should relic the neck, which was a good idea. But I couldn't bring myself to relic up that 91 MIM maple..it was so mint..so I took it off and installed an old custom really reliced neck I had..and not only does it look much better suited for that ax..its slightly thicker so I was able to raise the saddles to compensate..and as a side bonus it reasied the strings up higher away from the pups, and it now has even less interferance issues. So eventually I will figure out all the little issues and make each one even better. Anyhow, that guitar just sold and is about to be shipped off so here is the final pics..I also changed the relicing on the body a bit (I felt it was a little overdone) and put a skate and misfits sticker on the back for a little more "punk" appeal...
