I have just bought second hand Strat. Serial MZ1083594.
Where can I find more info about it?
Want to know about materials, and parts used (woods, pickups etc.)

Thanks,

Eric

This very site may have the info you are looking for. Go to products, Standard Strat, specs. They have not changed a whole lot since your axe was made, although 2006 did see some upgraeds.

the product dating page of this site is quite definitive that the serial mz1 should be followed by 5 digits not 6.

MN9+ 5 digits 1999-2000
MZ0+ 5 digits 2000-2001
MZ1+ 5 digits 2001-2002
MZ2+ 5 digits 2002-2003
MZ3+ 5 digits 2003-2004
MZ4+ 5 digits 2004-2005
MZ5+ 5 digits 2005-2006

on this basis could your guitar be a 2010. Not unless HG Wells had something to do with its production. Also i have the feeling that fender dont follow the dating section of the serial no' with a 0. Ofcourse thats just my feeling and i could well be wrong, it wouldnt be the first time i missed the mark. Its entirely possible that fender mexico did stamp some guitars mz1 xxxxxx, 2001 was a prolific year for the mexico factory.
We need serial no's from other mim owners to see whether my suspicions are right or wrong. At the moment suspicions based on feeling not fact are all they are.

The guitar dater project site says;

Your guitar was made at the
Ensenada Plant (Fender), Mexico
in the Year(s): 2001 - 2002

I had a MIM with 6 digits too.
